His Friends

Englewood’s Special Needs Ministry exists to love and serve Jesus Christ by facilitating children with special needs and their families to become full participants and contributors in the body of Christ.

We believe that everyone deserves an equal opportunity to worship, learn, and serve in our church, regardless of their abilities. We seek to transform lives through personal relationships and a foundation of trust that will extend to trusting in Christ. We are committed to flexibility, knowing that each child is different and wonderfully made.

Sunday Morning Connect Group

Each Sunday morning, our His Friends ministry meets in room L102 & L104 to study the Word of God and fellowship with one another. our teachers have a desire to do whatever it takes to share Biblical Truths to the precious members of this class.

 Wednesday Evening Awana

Each Wednesday evening (from September to May), special needs children have the opportunity to attend Awana with a one-on-one shadow called a “special buddy.” It is our desire to integrate the members of the His Friends Ministry into the life of the church, and involvement in Awana is a vital part of that vision.

Want to Help?

We believe that one of the greatest ways to love Jesus is to love and care for these precious children. We offer training opportunities to be sure that everyone in the His Friends Ministry is properly trained and comfortable serving in this capacity. Has the Lord called you to serve in this special ministry? If so, He will equip you! Click here to sign up, or click here to email Shannon Copenhaver for more information.
